Cue the Blue

I’m Logan Taylor, the founder of Cue the Blue. I started Cue the Blue in 2018 because I looked up and down my ballot and saw that I was being represented by Democrats who in many cases I liked, trusted, and respected at every level of my ballot. But I also knew that if you take a very short drive away from where I live, there are a lot of people holding elected office that I would not want to represent me.

I decided to set up a way for people to reach outside their districts into neighboring districts that needed help to flip or keep competitive seats blue.

Until 2018 the Washington State Senate was held by Republicans. So, we found districts: Washington’s 37th Legislative District and 40th Legislative District, plus the 8th Congressional District. Every one of those candidates flipped their district and took power. Democrats took a majority in the legislature and immediately started passing a slew of bills that had been sitting there in deadlocked Olympia for years. It’s not deadlocked anymore!

It’s now 2022 and we have a right-wing activist court which means that meaningful legislation is going to necessarily come from the state level.

This is going to be a really fun and empowering event. We’re not only raising money, but we’re also signing up people to volunteer for the campaigns. So, if you have a bunch of money… great! We want it! If you don’t have a lot of money, but you have some time that you can volunteer… great! That’s equally as important. We need volunteers to make sure that these seats don’t fall back into Republican control.

This event will, of course, have hosted beer and wine because I’m hosting it… and that’s the only way that I ever do events.

And it’s going to be fun because, again… I’m hosting it and that’s the only kind of event that I do. So I really hope that you come to the events and please invite your friends.

This is not the time to be sitting on the sidelines. It’s our responsibility to make sure that we’re represented by people who deserve to represent us.
