Are you looking for a move out cleaning in Seattle that is guaranteed to be a five start experience? Book with Dazzle today!
A move out cleaning service includes everything on our Standard Cleaning Checklist plus:
The inside/outside/under and behind the fridge and inside and outside of the stove and oven
Inside/outside of all cabinets, drawers, shelves, pantries and closets
Window frames and tracks (if they are old metal window tracks they are not included in this service but can be added on)
The outside and around the washer and the dryer
Spot check the walls (emphasis on the kitchen and the bathroom), however we will not clean all of your walls unless specifically instructed to do so which will change your quote
What’s not included:
Windows & blinds (available as an add-on)
Basements, attics & garages (available as an add-on)
Spaces that can’t be safely reached using a two-step ladder
Anything outside of the home
What about my vaulted ceilings?
Anything that we can’t reach with a two-step ladder we will dust with a 9-foot extension duster. This means that light fixtures, fans or other objects that after out of our reach using a three-step ladder will receive a sub-par dusting.
What do I need to do before my cleaners arrive?
Everything should be out of your home when the cleaners arrive. This includes furniture, food, etc.
For best results, other technicians such as electricians, plumbers, carpet cleaners or painters will not be in the home during the move out cleaning service.
Why isn’t my quote more precise?
People leave their home in a wide range of states when they move out.
You will likely be on the low end of the quote range if:
You have a regular home cleaning service
You like to clean and regularly clean hard to reach or out of sight spaces
You will likely be on the higher end of the quote range if:
You’re not sure when it was that you last cleaned the outside of your cabinets
You don’t regularly clean 360 degrees around your toilet
What happens if my quote is incorrect?
Rarely, we give a quote that turns out to be incorrect. This is usually the result of a miscommunication but is sometimes due to the home needing much more scrubbing than what is in our range of normal. If this happens, we will let you know in the first hour of arriving to the job that we have a problem. You will be contacted by a manager and we will offer you at least three options to proceed. The options usually look like this:
We can complete this job as requested but the price of the job will be X instead of Y
Without adjusting your quote we can complete the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms but we can’t compete the other public spaces
We can cancel this job and allow you to get bids from other cleaning services
How does payment work?
A deposit of 45% of the top end of your estimate is due two days before your job is scheduled to occur. We will send you an estimate for the remaining balance after your service has been completed.
How much does it cost to hire a cleaning company in Seattle? Prices generally range from $20-$55 per hour.
7 Ways to Save on Home Cleaning:
Look for a company that has Independent Contractors instead of employees. These companies save a bundle by not paying payroll taxes such as medicare, medicaid, social security, unemployment or worker’s compensation. Low wage workers suffer because of this, but the price breaks are sometimes passed on to the consumer.
Hire a company that pushes for cash payments. This means they might be saving money on other taxes such as B&O taxes which could result in some savings to the client.
Find someone who is uninsured and doesn’t carry a bond. Most cleaning companies don’t report damage to their insurance company anyway, so it might be worth the risk to shave a little more off the bill.
Hire a company that doesn’t spend money on sales and marketing. It’s expensive to market and if the company doesn’t have a marketing budget they will be able to have lower prices. The only downside is that these companies tend to be hard to find.
Choose a company that has a mediocre online reputation.
Look for a service that isn’t generous in their community. Supporting community organizations costs money. It is cheaper to find a company that doesn’t invest in community.
Hire a company that uses harsh cleaning chemicals and doesn’t adhere to green cleaning practices. Using tough chemicals that are not environmentally friendly often saves on the chemicals themselves and they do work faster in some cases than their green alternatives.
5 Benefits of paying for a high quality, reputable cleaning company:
Quality work. At Dazzle we invest in our employees and throughly train each employee. Investing in and thoroughly training our employees leads to a company culture of excellence. This is why we have the happiest clients in Seattle.
Safety and Security. Every employee is background checked before they are offered a job at Dazzle. We carry a large umbrella policy and are bonded.
Fast, friendly, flexible and reliable. That’s our mantra. When something out of the ordinary comes up we will have this in our head when deciding how to move forward.
Eagerness to correct. Mistakes sometimes happen. When a mistake does happen we are eager to enthusiastically correct it with the client. Cheaper services don’t have as much flexibility here because they are already operating a bare bones business. If you wonder how mistakes are dealt with check out online reviews such as those found at Yelp.com
Health. The health of your family, friends and pets and of our employees and of our natural world is important to us. This is why we work hard to stay as green as possible and why we became a carbon neutral company. Curious about what it means to be carbon neutral? Check out this video on how we did it.
How much does Dazzle charge?
We base our rates on $48 per hour.
Choosing which company to go with
If you are looking for a high quality cleaning service that strives to be fast, friendly, flexible and reliable then book a service with us!
If Dazzle is outside of your budget we recommend looking for a person who cleans independently. They may not have all of their business affairs in order but they will likely be highly motivated to do work hard and provide a good service to you. Check out Craigslist or bulletin boards at the grocery store.
If you are in a sever bind and must find someone right away and you have no other options then you may want to book a service with HandBook. It is not so much that HandyBook provides a bad service it is more that they provide an extremely inconsistent service and they have a high rate of last minute cancellations. Still, they typically have a lot of availability and they are cheap.
Here are the 3 things to look for when choosing a Seattle Maid Service:
1. Are they going to do a great job every time?
When choosing a cleaning company most of us want to be sure that we are hiring a cleaning service that is fast, friendly, flexible and reliable and who we know will consistently do a great job.
Read online reviews from sites who verify reviews such as Yelp.com.
The reviews should be mostly positive. If they are bad reviews is it because the client was asking for a service that the company doesn’t provide or is it because the home was not cleaned well? How does the business deal with bad reviews?
2. Do they use green cleaning products and practices?
Many of us want to hire a green cleaning company because the health of ourselves, our family, our pets, our cleaners and our environment is important to us.
Does the company use mostly biodegradable cleaning products? Do they reduce the amount of plastic that they use by choosing biodegradable bags over plastic bags? Do they reuse plastic bottles as many times as possible before recycling them? Do they use fresh cleaning clothes over paper towels? Do they have a commitment to reducing their carbon footprint? Do they do something to offset carbon emissions.
3. Do they hire and train employees or do they dispatch independent contractors who they are legally unable to train or manage?
It’s important that the maid service that you choose is a company who hires and trains their employees. Some companies, such as HandyBook, do not hire and train their cleaners. Instead they make all of their cleaners independent contractors. This results in bad service and low reviews because they are legally unable to train and manage the cleaners. It is also unethical because they are avoiding paying payroll taxes. It is exploitation of low wage workers. However, it is cheaper to hire a company that only has independent contractors because they pass the savings of avoiding taxes on to the consumer, at least partially.
Are you looking for a company that provides green cleaning in Seattle?
You’ve come to the right place! We will dazzle you with high quality green cleaning in Seattle!
Dazzle has had an emphasis on green cleaning practices since day one. Over the years we have become more and more creative in our quest to become the greenest cleaning company in Seattle.
So what makes us so green?
We make most of our own cleaning supplies right here in Seattle. This reduces the amount of plastic that we consume and recycle. Instead of using a bottle one time we refill it hundreds of times before recycling it. And since most cleaning products are mostly water it doesn’t make much sense to ship all that water around. That’s a lot of unnecessarily burned carbon. This is why making our own cleaning products helps us reduce our carbon footprint.
We don’t use paper towels. Isn’t it strange how many cleaning companies still use paper towels? At Dazzle we use fresh cloth towels which saves a bunch of trees. Guess what. They are better for cleaning too.
After reducing our carbon footprint as much as know how to do we are still burning carbon. To offset that carbon we purchase carbon credits from an internationally respected carbon credit NGO based in Switzerland called My Climate.

The Problem: you want clean stainless steel appliances but they look stained and dingy
Having clean stainless steel appliances is easy! Here’s how to make them sparkle!
It’s really nice to have a sparkling clean home but sometimes it’s hard to know how to make everything sparkle. Have you ever finished cleaning your kitchen only to realize that your stainless steel appliances are lackluster? That’s why we made this video to show you how to make your stainless steel appliances shine in two easy steps.
The Solution: clean with vinegar water and polish with baby oil
1) Using a mixture of 3 parts water and 1 part white vinegar, clean the stainless steel on your appliance. Do this by spraying the vinegar water either directly on the appliance or on a clean cloth. We recommend using cleaning cloths rather than paper towels because it is more environmentally friendly, and we love trees, and it works better.
2) Get a clean towel and moisten it with baby oil or another low viscosity oil. Now liberally apply baby oil to the stainless steel. Make sure you are applying the oil in the direction of the grain.
Voila! You’re stainless steel is clean and looks fabulous!
But maybe you’re too busy to make your stainless steel sparkle. If that’s the case then it could be time to hire a professional cleaning company. We would love to make your home sparkle and make your stainless steel appliances look brand new again! Give us a call or book an appointment today!
We didn’t choose being the gayest cleaning company in America, it chose us
Dazzle was born in a pretty gay neighborhood of Seattle: Capitol Hill. Most of our first dozen or so clients were part of the LGBTQIAA community and they began referring their friends to us like crazy!
What I’m saying is we didn’t choose to be the gayest cleaning company in America, it chose us.
We decided to stay the gayest cleaning company in America even after we diversified
As we continued to grow our client and employee population diversified. Still, we decided to continue calling ourselves, “The Gayest Cleaning Company in America” for a few reasons.
It may not seem like it in Seattle, but we continue to live in a homophobic, transphobic and othering world. It is our hope that when someone who is in an oppressive space sees our company it might offer a glimpse into a world not yet known to them. This is a world where people are not disadvantaged, beat up, raped or killed because of their sexuality. Of course that world already exists, and we are widening it.
Beyond connecting with the LGBTQIAA community, our brand connects with other people who have experienced different flavors of oppression. We have a lot of black and brown clients, Jewish and Muslim clients and clients who are differently abled.
Cleaning a person’s home is an intimate act. People hire us because even if they’ve felt othered they feel safe and respected with us.
We will continue to call ourselves, “The Gayest Cleaning Company in America” until lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer, intersex, a-sexual and allied people feel safe, welcome and embraced everywhere. And then we will all start wearing shirts that say, “Fuck You Donald Trump” as a reminder of the dark years.
